Allied Health Services For You

Our Allied Health Services under the CHSP offer physiotherapy and occupational therapy support tailored for older adults. We provide in-home or community services to help you improve your movement and communication skills. Our caring team is dedicated to supporting you in staying active and independent while achieving your personal health goals.

Speech Pathology

Assistance with speech clarity, language development, and effective communication strategies.

  • Evaluation and therapy for safe swallowing to prevent choking and ensure proper nutrition.

Techniques to improve voice quality and manage voice disorders.

Support in enhancing social interaction and conversation skills.

Physiotherapy

  • Personalised exercises and techniques to improve walking and general mobility.

Programs designed to enhance strength, balance, and coordination to prevent falls.

Strategies and exercises to help manage chronic pain and improve comfort.

Guidance on performing daily activities safely and efficiently, promoting independence.

Objective:

To provide services that restore, improve or maintain CHSP participant’s health, wellbeing and independence including time limited services to support wellness and reablement goals.

Service type description:

 

Allied Health and Therapy Services focus on restoring, improving, or maintaining participants’ independent functioning and wellbeing. This is done through a range of clinical interventions, expertise, care and treatment, education including techniques for selfmanagement, technologies including telehealth technology, advice and supervision to improve people’s capacity.

 

Allied Health and Therapy Services funded under the CHSP that we provide include:

• Occupational therapy

• Physiotherapy

Out-of-scope activities under this service type:

Specialist post-acute care and rehabilitation services are out-of-scope and must not be purchased using CHSP funding.

Service delivery setting (e.g. home/centre/clinic/community):

Services may be delivered in a participant’s home, a clinic, at a day centre, a group environment or other community setting.

Service Location:

These services are available across the Hunter Region, Newcastle, and Sydney (subject to availability in Sydney).
