Last 27th of June, a rally took place in Newcastle where passionate Support Workers came together to advocate for more training and, of course, higher pay. Our training covers essential areas like Safe Medication Management and High-Intensity Supports, specifically trainings for Complex Bowel Care, Urinary Catheter Management, Enteral Feeding, Diabetes, and Subcutaneous Injection. We leave no stone unturned in ensuring our Support Workers have the expertise to handle diverse care needs.
Additionally, we extend our education, training, and support to encompass Participant Medical Management Plans. This includes crucial aspects like Epilepsy and Seizure Management, Asthma Management, Severe Dysphagia, and Mealtime Management. We believe that by equipping our Support Workers with these skills, we enhance the overall quality of care delivered to our Participants. We even bring in qualified Health Professionals like Dieticians and Physiotherapists for specialised sessions to ensure the highest standard of care.
To ensure a seamless learning experience, we have a dedicated Registered Nurse overseeing all training, education, and competency assessment sessions. This expert professional provides ongoing support and guidance to our Support Workers, enabling them to continually enhance their skills and knowledge. With their guidance, our Support Workers are better equipped to provide exceptional care to our Participants.
